Overview

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure provides access to a wide variety of Athens State University campus resources and software using your own device.

Athens State University students and employees can use the VDI if they are unable to download and install Microsoft Access, Project, Publisher, Visio, SPSS, Yuja, and other apps on their device if their device does not meet the system requirements for the application or software.

Install Steps

Download the Omnissa Horizon Web Client from vdi.athens.edu.

Select Horizon Client for your Operating System, and download the file.

Run the installer, and confirm installation. 

Troubleshooting

• All work done using the VDI will be erased after logging off. Save the file(s) created using VDI to your Athens State University Microsoft 365 OneDrive. 
• Download files from VDI to your computer
